EXOFORM Nerikomi #7
This vessel from the EXOFORM series is constructed from hand-cut and reassembled sections of porcelain, forming a compressed yet fluid volume. Broad light bands intersect darker marbled fields, mapping the points of division and reattachment across the surface. Each line records an actual cut and structural join, embedding fragmentation directly into the body of the form.
Unlike a purely segmented mass, this piece carries a sense of lateral movement — the layered porcelain appears to shift and slide, as if tectonic plates were displaced and fused under pressure. The marbled dark clay retains subtle internal striations, revealing the depth of the material rather than a surface treatment.
The composition references geological fracture, compression, and realignment — a landscape compacted into a self-contained vessel.
