AVEZZANO Nerikomi Vessel #A1
The nerikomi color palette is based on a layered composition of natural tones: warm beiges, sandy creams, light grays, and deeper shades of graphite and muted black. The colors are arranged in distinct, rhythmic bands that retain their individual identities while forming a cohesive whole.
Linear structures run in multiple directions, folding and interweaving, evoking maps of geological strata or cross-sections of sedimentary earth. The nerikomi is directly inspired by the landscape of the former Lake Fucino in Avezzano—its drained lakebed, geological deposits, and traces of water recorded in the soil. Subtle variations in saturation and line thickness give the surface depth and a sense of movement, despite the restrained, subdued palette. The overall effect remains matte, mineral, and quiet, with a strong reference to time embedded in the material.
