PESCARA Nerikomi Vessel #P1
This Pescara vessel is part of the Strata Collection and is created using the nerikomi technique, in which pigmented porcelain clays are layered, compressed, and cut to reveal the internal structure of the material rather than surface decoration. Made from translucent porcelain, the piece subtly interacts with light, allowing it to pass through thinner areas and accentuate the depth and complexity of the layered strata.
The form balances between a functional vessel and an autonomous sculptural object. Natural irregularities, inclusions, and shifts between layers are inherent to the process and intentionally preserved as evidence of material behavior and hand-making. Each surface reveals a different configuration of layered clay, making every piece a unique record of its formation.
