This ceramic object is created using the nerikomi technique, in which pigmented clays are precisely layered before the form is shaped, making the pattern an integral part of the structure rather than a surface decoration.
The color palette is grounded in deep, earthy tones of graphite black, dark brown, and muted gray, intersected by irregular vertical lines of ivory and pale ash. These striations run through the entire volume of the vessel, subtly shifting in density and rhythm. The work is inspired by the vineyards of Bolognano, reflecting the layered soil, cultivated terrain, and geological depth of the landscape.
The form is compact and grounded, with a low, rounded body and a calm cylindrical opening. Its matte, mineral surface evokes stratified earth and sediment, allowing the object to exist between vessel and sculpture, with a strong sense of material, place, and time embedded in the clay.
